Rubén Ponce de León Hasenkamp is a graduate of International Studies from Leiden University and is currently pursuing a master’s in international relations at the Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität Berlin, and the University of Potsdam. His work focuses on conflict dynamics, global security, and resource security, including research on proxy warfare in Yemen and shifting geopolitical alliances.
He previously worked as a Senior Executive Consultant at the International Council of Energy & Environment, conducting sustainability-focused market analyses, supporting business development and ESG strategies, and helping expand the organisation’s executive client base. Earlier, he completed a traineeship at the European Investment Bank, monitoring German political and energy-policy developments and contributing to stakeholder engagement and political reporting.
