Svea Nyberg covers EU carbon markets as a policy specialist from the Brussels office. She follows EU carbon market and emissions trading policies, with a particular focus on the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and its ongoing revision. Her work includes monitoring key legislative and regulatory developments and coordinating with think tanks and civil society organisations to track the ETS review process. She also drafts policy publications and analyses, builds EPICO's network across European institutions and key stakeholders, and supports the team's advocacy efforts in Brussels.
Prior to joining EPICO, Svea worked as a policy officer at IETA, the International Emissions Trading Association, where she tracked EU climate policies on emissions trading, including the intersection between voluntary and EU compliance carbon markets, ETS2 and the EU Carbon Removals and Carbon Farming (CRCF) Regulation.
