Brussels - EPICO KlimaInnovation e.V. is a young, innovative and independent think tank based in Berlin and Brussels, which brings together key players in climate and energy policy to develop sustainable, market – and innovation-oriented strategies for climate neutrality.
We are looking for a Communications Consultant to join our Brussels team to support the organisation and implementation of EPICO’s high-level conference - the “Sustainable Growth Summit” (SGS) - and the development of our Sustainable Growth Forum (SGF).
Applicants should be available to start as soon as possible, although most of the work will be conducted in September/October 2024. Interviews will take place on an ongoing basis via Teams.

Your tasks:
- Collaborating with EPICO on the development of a media and communication strategy for the Sustainable Growth Summit & Forum with a view to targeting policymakers, businesses, and media in Brussels.
- Expanding EPICO’s network of journalists (both national and EU media) in Brussels and promoting the SGS and SGF with relevant media actors.
- Providing ideas for potential invitees based on personal networks.
- Preparing media material on the topic of sustainable innovation, competitiveness, and green industrialisation.
- Participating and supporting in the organisation of the SGS.
Your competencies:
- You have at least 5 years of proven professional experience in Communications, Media Relations and Outreach.
- A track record in developing and implementing communication strategies on policy topics and conferences.
- You are based in Brussels and have an expansive network of national and EU-level media, policymakers, and organisations.
- You have a very good understanding of political and economic issues in climate, energy, and industrial policies.
- You have a portfolio of written deliverables (e.g. open letters and op-eds published by recognised media outlets) on the topic of energy and climate policy.
- You have very good analytical skills, can work independently, and are detail-oriented. Experience in editing and proof-reading is desirable.
- You are fluent in both spoken and written English. Knowledge of another EU language is desirable.
