EPICO KlimaInnovation is offering a 6-month traineeship in Brussels, with a focus on industrial and climate policy. The role combines policy research, legislative monitoring, and event management. EPICO’s recent work on the topic includes policy briefs, closed-door workshops and public conferences on steel decarbonisation, circularity, carbon pricing, direct and indirect electrification.
Who we are
EPICO KlimaInnovation is an independent think tank with offices in Berlin and Brussels, working to develop pragmatic and progressive strategies for climate neutrality. Our work lies at the intersection between private-led innovation, industrial decarbonisation, and EU policymaking, with the aim to develop consensus-oriented solutions for an effective decarbonisation and energy transition.
Your role
- Conduct research and contribute to policy briefs on EU industrial and climate policy;
- Contribute to legislative monitoring, analysis of developments related to the ETS, the CBAM, electrification, hydrogen and sectoral transition pathways for steel, cement and chemicals;
- Support event preparation and logistics including speaker mapping and acquisition, organisational tasks, and note-taking;
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree completed in political science, environmental studies, economics, industrial engineering, or a related field
- Fluent English (C2); good working knowledge of German (C1) required
- Strong interest in climate policy and industrial decarbonisation
- Knowledge of the main provisions of the EU Green Deal and the ETS, including relevant files under the Fit for 55 Package and the NZIA
- Ability to write clear, structured, and informed papers on subjects related to European social and economic policy
- Curiosity, reliability, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
