Parul Kumar is EPICO's Deputy Executive Director and Director – Climate.
At EPICO, Parul works on various aspects of international climate policy, industrial decarbonisation, carbon pricing, circular economy, and sustainable agriculture.
Parul has close to 15 years’ work experience as a Climate Policy Specialist at think tanks and as a commercial litigation and arbitration lawyer. In her past roles, Parul has worked at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) in Potsdam (Germany), the World Resources Institute (WRI) in New Delhi (India), in leading law firms in Mumbai and New Delhi (Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Luthra & Luthra Law Offices), and at the Office of the Additional Solicitor General in the Supreme Court of India.
Parul has a Master’s Degree in Law and Economics (LL.M.) from the University of Hamburg, the University of Ghent, and the Warsaw School of Economics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)) from the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru, India.
She is also a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law in KU Leuven, where her doctoral research focuses on rights-based climate litigation and the role of constitutional law.
Parul has published in several renowned peer-reviewed law journals, such as Carbon & Climate Law Review, Arbitration International, and the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice.
